Prostate Cancer: Advances in Genetic Testing and Clinical Implications

چکیده
The demand for genetic testing (GT) prostate cancer (PCa) is expanding, but there limited knowledge about the counseling (GC) needs of men. A strong-to-moderate inherited predisposition causes approximately 5–20% (PCa). In men with cancer, germline may benefit patient by informing treatment options, and if a mutation noticed, it also guide screening other cancers have family implications cascade (testing close relatives same mutation). Relatives mutations be eligible early detection strategies preventive measures. Cascade can favorable members, currently unutilized, to overcome obstacles like deficiency, communication, lack access services, expenses are needed. this review, we will look at factors that been linked as well role in advanced cancer.

MTHFR genetic testing: Controversy and clinical implications.
BACKGROUND A polymorphism is a variant within a gene that does not necessarily affect its function, unlike a pathogenic mutation. Genetic testing for two common polymorphisms in the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase gene (MTHFR), 677C>T and 1298A>C, is being accessed by general practitioners (GPs) and alternative medicine practitioners (based on in-house records from referrals), and promoted ...
متن کاملProstate cancer epigenetics and its clinical implications
Normal cells have a level of epigenetic programming that is superimposed on the genetic code to establish and maintain their cell identity and phenotypes. This epigenetic programming can be thought as the architecture, a sort of cityscape, that is built upon the underlying genetic landscape. The epigenetic programming is encoded by a complex set of chemical marks on DNA, on histone proteins in ...
متن کاملHemochromatosis: clinical implications of genetic testing.
Hemochromatosis is one of the most common genetic diseases affecting Canadians of European ancestry. However, too often this disease is diagnosed in people who do not have it and is missed in those who do. By the time a diagnosis is made on the basis of symptoms, irreversible organ damage has often occurred. A missense mutation (the C282Y cysteine-to-tyrosine substitution) on chromosome 6 of th...
متن کاملGenetic and microenvironmental implications in prostate cancer progression and metastasis.
Prometastatic gene expression events occur during the early phases of prostate oncogenesis, even though overlaping with genes that induce primary cancer growth. Cytogenetic and genomic profiling analyses have identified many cancer-associated chromosomal abnormalities consisting mainly in losses in the early phases of sporadic primary prostate carcinoma. Metastatic genes are those in which gain...
متن کاملClinical and Pathological Features of Iraqi Patients with Prostate Cancer
Background: The clinical pathological features were detected by measuring the prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) activity according to the stages and grades of prostate cancer. We also explored the relationship between the disease and age with family history among the patients. Methods: Data were collected from direct interview and from the patient’s records. Blood samples that collected before ...
